  • Do you buy mobile phones?

Want to sell your mobile phone?

The world has witnessed a massive increase in the use of mobile phones especially since Apple launched its first iPhone back in 2007.  Over the years we have noticed that mobile phones lose their value and within a few years a time comes when your old mobile phone is worth almost nothing. It’s always advisable to sell your mobile phone before it loses all its value and is worth next to nothing.

Mobile phone recycling has gained much more attention in recent times because the number of newer mobile phones bought every year in the UK is much higher than mobile phones sold or recycled in the UK.

At TFT, we offer repair services and are often asked if we buy mobile phones, which we don’t so we decided to look for the best recycling company in the UK - it doesn’t matter what you want to sell, they’ll buy it. If you want to sell an iPhone 7 or recycle an iPhone 8 with a broken screen you can ask them to send you a trade pack and send them your mobile phone for free. You can also sell your Samsung s7 or s8 and they’ll pay you a descent price. According to Gartner research, this increased by 1.3 percent in 2018.

We have used many companies in the past and have found them to be most competitive. If you want more for your device and are willing to go through the hassle, you can always try selling your mobile phone on eBay or Gumtree, but the issue with Gumtree, Facebook and eBay is that it can become a hassle selling your device on them - above all you have to provide all guarantees and have to speak to quite a few people before you actually get money for your old device. One of the reasons we like recycling our device with Rapid Phone Buyer is that they are willing to buy mobile phones which are faulty or are broken which many companies refuse to buy.

As far as other gadgets are concerned, such as laptops, its always advisable to sell through Facebook or a shop - sometimes we also buy laptops, so please ask. For TVs you can ring us and provide us with your exact model number and we might be able to buy it from you. Another option is CEX, but we have seen some very low offers from them. They can be a good choice if you plan to buy something else from them as when they give you credit note it's much higher value than the cash they offer.

Do you need to change your computer?

At times this is down to personal preferences, if you are using your computer for extensive gaming, graphical editing, or sound production, then yes, it’s probably a good idea. What we have noticed over the years at TFT is that a lot of our clients have powerful machines to run the basic applications, where the excessive power irrelevant. A laptop from 10 years ago is capable of basic functions, such as web browsing, clerical and administrative work, and browsing YouTube, Facebook and more. So why change your computer? it doesn't match your wallpaper, sofa and curtains? Why not just upgrade the computer to the latest operating system or hardware if possible, and save money!

  • Why won't my TV turn on?

It can be frustrating when you have finished work, just had your tea, you go to put your feet up, grab the remote to switch on your TV and… nothing.

This can be due to numerous faults on the power supply or even the main board, it can be something as simple as a fuse if you’re lucky, but this is not always the case. Over time, the power supply unit can develop faults such as dry joints, dried domed capacitors or even deeper more complex faults - that's when data sheets and schematics get pulled out but we won’t bore you with that! We can rectify most issues with TV power faults, offering our services in Hull and the East Riding. Give us a call, and one our technicians will be happy to help.

  • Can you fix a cracked TV screen?

It can be frustrating when this happens, unfortunately we have found this particular fault to be uneconomical to have repaired. With the screen being the main component, the costs can really mount up to the price of a new TV. We offer a wide range of TV repairs but this one just doesn't make financial sense for our customers.

At times some customers have requested insurance reports, having claimed through their home insurance. We can offer this service, so please contact us if you would like more information we will be happy to help.

  • Why has my TV got no signal?

It can be frustrating when this happens. Your aerial may be defective, it may have moved in the wind. Alternatively, it could be a problem with the TV itself. For further assistance please call us, and one of our technicians will be happy to help.

  • Why is my TV stuck in a loop?

Is your TV is stuck in a loop? This can be due to the software. Most modern smart TVs are android based and connected to the internet.  At times an auto update maybe applied, if it is enabled in your TV's menu. If for some reason the software does not bridge over correctly or in some cases the TV has been switched off prior to completion of the software installation, this can result in the TV being stuck in a loop or stuck in standby. At times we can rectify this issue but in some cases it has resulted in the main board having to be replaced.

  • Why has my TV got no picture? I can still hear it!

If you're having issues such as sound but no picture on an LED TV set, we can help, offering our services within the vicinity of Hull and the East Riding. This fault can be due to LEDs in the screen being defective and would entail the full screen to be dismantled. We would then need to trace which LEDs are defective and replace each individual one. This can be a long process. For pricing of this particular repair please call we will be happy to help.

"Amazing service. Staff were friendly and professional, used no computer jargon and didn't treat me like I knew nothing. Quote given on the spot. 3 hours later they called to say all was fixed and ready for collection. Price exactly as quoted. Even got further, detailed advice about software and various other things at no extra cost. Second time I've used Total Fix and would highly, if not totally recommend. Thanks team Total Fix.
